EMDR Therapy in Florida and Oregon

A memory may be years old and still bring up fear, shame, or a strong physical reaction. I’m an EMDRIA Certified Therapist™. I offer online EMDR therapy for adults in Florida and Oregon. You can seek EMDR here whether or not you identify as neurodivergent or geeky.

We’ll begin by talking about what’s bringing you to therapy and how past experiences are affecting you now. Before working directly with memories, we’ll discuss the process, prepare together, and make room for your questions about whether EMDR fits your needs.

Understanding EMDR

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is a structured therapy used to address distress connected with difficult memories.

EMDR follows an eight-phase process that includes history, planning, preparation, processing, and reviewing progress. Part of that work can involve bringing a distressing memory to mind while following guided eye movements or another form of alternating stimulation.

Preparing for the Work

We talk about your history, current concerns, and goals when considering whether EMDR fits your treatment. We discuss your readiness before working directly with memories.

You might want to work toward:

  • Feeling less pulled into the past

  • Responding differently to reminders

  • Changing beliefs about yourself that developed around difficult experiences

Understanding the process is part of deciding whether to begin.

Questions About EMDR Therapy

Is online EMDR right for me?

We can discuss your concerns, history, current support, and whether online treatment is appropriate. Being interested in EMDR does not mean we need to begin processing memories immediately. I offer online therapy in Florida and Oregon; let me know where you will be during sessions.

How long does it take?

There is no single timeline. The concerns you want to address, preparation, and your response to treatment help guide the pace. We review your progress and discuss what makes sense next.

What happens when I join the waitlist?

I’ll reach out to arrange an initial consultation call. We’ll talk about what you’re looking for, whether we might be a good fit, and my upcoming availability. From there, I can give you an estimated timeframe for starting or offer referrals if another option would better meet your needs.
